About the Role
We are hiring a Software Development Engineer to build high performing web applications that are being used to scale our business operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop software that contributes to the green building industry (Oxygen8 products are recently Passive House certified!) as well as growing Canadian domestic manufacturing.

Potential to own projects:
- Developing automation tools to generate engineering drawings
- Epicor ERP API integration projects
- Setting up a data warehouse
- Implementing end to end testing strategies and frameworks
Opportunity to take initiative and be innovative:
- Manufacturing system integration to improve process efficiency and product quality
- Developing live data visualization dashboards
- Using knowledge of building/HVAC industry to create robust tools that will be used for construction planning
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop web applications using modern front-end frameworks and libraries
- Implement server-side functionality using programming languages and frameworks (.NET Framework, C#, Java, HTML).
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs.
- Integrate applications with databases and other third-party services.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Implement new features with clean, maintainable, modular and well-documented code
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, sales, applications and engineering teams.
- Stay up to date with the latest web development technologies and best practices.
Experience and Skills
- Diploma in Computer Science or Degree in Engineering with relevant software experience
- 2+ years’ experience working in full stack development
- Proficient in at least one front-end framework/library (React, Angular, Vue.js) and one back-end language/framework (ASP.NET, .NET Framework, Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails)
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles.
- Experience building RESTful APIs
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with git version control
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with test-driven development and automated testing
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and technology
- Experience with Epicor and/or Salesforce API integration
- Experience working with data visualization tools (Tableau, Splunk etc.)

Annual Salary:
- $85,000 to $105,000 based on experience.
Location and Schedule:
- Hybrid work schedule (TBD), based out of our Vancouver office (1575 Vernon Drive, Vancouver, BC).
Compensation
$85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
